James Dan Thompson, 85, of Hendersonville, TN passed away April 18, 2020. Dan was born April 6, 1935 in Franklin, TN. He was of Baptist faith and a U.S. Navy Veteran. After Dan's discharge from the Navy he began his professional career at Breeko Industries in Nashville, TN. which was the beginning of his interest in design, architecture & engineering. His career continued until retirement in construction management & engineering for both residential & commercial properties. Some of his professional affiliations included the State of Tennessee Industrial Development Board & The Nashville Jr. Chamber of Commerce.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Faye Groom Thompson, his daughter Pamela D. Thompson, granddaughter Jacqueline Erwin (Brett), great grandchildren Emily, Kaylee & Ethan Erwin, his son S. Keith Thompson (Carole), grandsons Jared & Devin Thompson, his son Michael D. Thompson (Susanne), his daughter Amy T. James (Barry), his "fur baby" Sophie.
A private family memorial will be held at Hendersonville Memorial Gardens at a later date.
The family would like to thank the staff of The Hearth Hendersonville & Willowbrook Hospice for their love and special care of Dan the last 2 years.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make donations to the charity of your choice in memory of Dan Thompson.
