Age 81 of Hendersonville passed away January 2, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born February 5, 1933 in Jasper Alabama.
Jim was a best described as a gentle giant, with a great big heart for people and life. He was a man of God, who was a member of Southern Baptist Church. He enjoyed gardening, animals of all kinds, and spending time with his family.
Preceded in death by his parents, Anah Nunnally Ryan and James Houston Ryan; brothers-in-law, Carl and Perry Claunch. Survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Louise C. Ryan; beloved pet, Princess; sister, Nell Ryan of Jasper, AL; brother, Joe Ryan (Karen) of Columbus, GA; sisters-in-law, Mary Bebich and Juanita Claunch of CA and Sherry Claunch of MS; brother-in-law, Ray Claunch (Penny) of TN; several nieces and nephews, Marcie, Mike and David of CA, Ruth of UT, Cathy and Tom of TN, Laura and Dorthy of MS; two special cousins, Kermit "Bud" and Bill Claunch.
A Life Celebration will be held 2:00pm Tuesday at Hendersonville Funeral Home with burial to follow at Hendersonville Memory Gardens. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be 1:30pm - 2:00pm Tuesday at funeral home.
In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
