James Maynor

James David Maynor, age 78, of Hendersonville met his Heavenly Father on April 26, 2024. James was born on April 9, 1946 in Nashville, Tennessee to the late William and Helen Maynor.

James graduated from East High School in Nashville, Tennessee and went on to further his education at Middle Tennessee State University.  James was a member of Hendersonville First Baptist.

James, lovingly known as ‘Popdaddy,’ was one of the most loving, selfless, devoted and hysterically witty men. He was an avid sports fan. He loved his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-granddaughter unconditionally. Most of all, he loved his Lord and Savior.

In addition to his parents, James is preceded in death by his siblings, John Maynor, Nancy Maynor, and Roger Maynor.

James is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Brenda H. Maynor; children, Rachel Stratton (Anthony) and David Maynor (Misty); grandchildren, Ashleigh Stratton, Andruw Stratton, Jayden Stratton (Kelci), Avery Maynor, Bayleigh Maynor, and Sawyer Maynor; and great granddaughter, Braven Stratton.

Visitation for James will be held on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Hendersonville Funeral Home (353 E. Main St., Hendersonville, Tennessee 37075). Visitation will also be held before the service on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm at Hendersonville First Baptist Church in the Chapel (106 Bluegrass Commons Blvd., Hendersonville, Tennessee 37075). The funeral service for James will be held at 1:00 pm at Hendersonville First Baptist Church in the Chapel (106 Bluegrass Commons Blvd., Hendersonville, Tennessee 37075). Interment will follow the service at Hendersonville Funeral Home (353 E. Main St., Hendersonville, Tennessee 37075).
