James Franklin Johnson of Hendersonville, TN died on July 5, 2018 at the age of 77. He was born in Nashville, TN, the youngest of 9 children born to Jessie and Della Johnson. On June 10th, 1961 he married Niva Frankie Coleman Johnson and they were blessed with three children, Cass Coleman Johnson, Bryant Keith Johnson, & Chad Everett Johnson. They had 8 grandchildren: Bryant Cheairs Johnson, Charlsie Gabrielle Johnson, Franklin Vincent Johnson, Thomas Connery Johnson, Conner Everett Johnson, Alesha Inez Johnson, Jennifer LeighAnn Johnson & Elizabeth Greenlaw Johnson.
Jim loved to fish, hunt, ski, play tennis, travel, and was a fan of all sports, especially tennis. His talents included photography and several art disciplines. He loved watching his children and grandchildren engage in their various sports and enjoy camping and the lake. Jim's back yard was home to any kid in the neighborhood, where he would coach and mentor anyone wanting to learn basketball, football, tennis, skiing, archery or any competitive activity. He always showed great joy when someone reached a new goal or believed they could do something they thought at first was not possible.
Double J's (Jim) infamous words were: "get the net!", "what are we doing?", "go hug your mama", "Hit it (skiing)", "if you're waiting on me, your backing up", "practice like you want to play."
Jim is survived by his wife Niva, his sons Cass, B.K., and Chad (Kellyn), and his grandchildren Bryant, Charlsie, Vincent, Thomas, Conner, Alesha, Jennifer & Elizabeth.
