James Carty

CARTY, James A. "Jack" age 86, passed away on January 28, 2010. He was retired from Bellsouth/ATT as an engineer in telecommunications after 45 years and was a Life Member of the Telephone Pioneers. After retirement he served as a volunteer at St. Thomas Hospital. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was a member of the Blakemore United Methodist Church He is survived by his wife Pat Carty; children Terry Anne Carty, Susan John Wilburn, Mark Dawn Carty and their mother, Jacquelyn Carty MacPherson; daughter, Lynn Conklin; grandchildren, Jonathan Julie Wilburn, Rebecca Carty, James Maurine Carty, Sarah Conklin. Funeral services will be on Monday February 1, 2010, at 10:30 am at Blakemore United Methodist Church. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2-5 pm and on Monday from 9:30-10:30 am at the church. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Blakemore United Methodist Church. Honorary pallbearers will be Telephone Pioneers, St. Thomas Volunteers and the Pathfinders Sunday School Class.
