James Clifford Bell, Jr., age 82, passed away at home on Monday, April 3, 2017. Preceded in death by his parents; James Clifford Bell, Sr., and Birdie Mae Ellis, and sister, Betty Bell Tryon.

Survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Ansil "Ann" Bell, son, Alton "Mike" McConnell (Sara), daughters; Debra McConnell Swint (Andy) and Patricia McConnell Edwards (Johnnie), grandchildren; Sara Ann McConnell VanEffen, Amy Swint Bean (Bryan), Andrea Swint Binkley (Amon), Amanda Swint, Drew Swint (Megan), Carl Edwards (Danielle) and Christopher Edwards, great-grandchildren; Nathan VanEffen, Aubrynne Bean, Adelynne Bean, Aerynne Bean, Andersynne Katherine Bean, Autumn Binkley, Kai Binkley and baby Swint. Also survived by Arteth Trion Black (niece), and many other relatives and friends.

James was a graduate of David Lipscomb College and a United States Army veteran. He was a member, elder and treasurer for many years at Franklin Road First Christian Church. He also attended Hendersonville Church of Christ and was a Mason, belonging to the John Garrett Lodge. James was a loving family man and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
A Life Celebration Service will be held at Hendersonville Funeral Home on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at 11AM, officiated by Pastor Keith Parker. Visitation will be held from 4PM-8PM on Wednesday, April 5, 2017, and one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Burial will take place following the service at Hendersonville Memory Gardens
