SMSgt Jack S. Teubert (retired), age 95, born March 22, 1928, in Gauley Bridge, West Virginia passed away June 9th, 2023 peacefully with family by his side in Hendersonville, TN. He was preceded in death by his parents Wateman and Sarah Teubert and his loving wife of 72 years Lila (Lee) Teubert. He is survived by his son John Teubert and his wife Beth, grandson Jackson Teubert and his wife Callie, sisters-in-law Patty Ann Irick and Betty Ann Beale, numerous nieces, nephews, and many dear friends. Jack joined the United States Air Force in 1952 and “grew up” with the jet age. His service with the Air Force took him to the Philippines, Oregon, and California. It was at Edwards Air Force base in California that Jack enjoyed the pinnacle of his career serving as the crew chief of the then-secret YF-12, a Mach 3+ capable, high-altitude interceptor prototype. Jack served two tours in Thailand during the Vietnam War before retiring in 1974 and moving to Hendersonville, TN. His next chapter led him to Peterbilt Motors in Madison, TN where he worked for 17 years in Quality Control – another tenure of great pride for Jack serving America’s manufacturing prowess. Following his retirement from Peterbilt in 1993, Jack and Lee traveled extensively visiting friends and family throughout the United States and were inseparable. Jack’s life revolved around his wife Lee and was heartbroken by her passing in September 2022. The family would like to thank the staff of Clarendale Indian Lake for their loving care over the past two months, the Aveanna Hospice Group and HomeWell Care Services for their support during Jack’s final days. Visitation will be from 9 am – 10:30 am followed by a graveside service at 11 am at Hendersonville Memory Gardens Wednesday June 14th, 2023, with Ken Carpenter officiating. Memorials can be sent to Aveanna Hospice Group at 212 North Crest Dr., Springfield, TN 37172.
