Jack K. Dodson , age 84 passed away January 10, 2016.
He was born on September 2, 1931 in Davidson County, TN to late Geoffrey and Sammie Dodson. In 1952 he met and married the love of his life Frances Ann McMahan. During his working years he was a draftsman/office planner and service manager for Nashville Dental and retired in 1991 after 43 years of service. He loved the Lord and was a man of deep faith. He was a lifelong member of Hendersonville Church of Christ. Jack ushered Vanderbilt athletics as a Gold Jacket for 63 years that began in 1950 under the management of NES. Jack was a man that valued integrity, and family traditions who was kind, funny, and gentle. He never told a lie no matter the circumstance. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the AL Menah Shriners where he was in the clown unit (Fuzz) and also served as captain. He was very devoted to being a clown and he served at every Shrine Circus that was held in Nashville. It could be said he was an all-around clown. He enjoyed putting a smile on everyone's face. He and Frances were always active in the community. Every week they played BINGO at Chick-fil-A and also walked at the Rivergate mall 3 times a week. Jack truly loved his family especially spending time with them. He will forever be remembered for his love of life, his cleverness, the way he never met a stranger, and his ability to make everyone around him laugh.
