Irene Dellinger- age 81 went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 1, 2016. She was born in Russellville, AR to the late Lloyd and Dortha Epps. She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, John Dellinger; son, John and Mary Dellinger; daughter, Bonnie and Terry Mink; granddaughters, Melissa and Chris Gardner, and Michelle Mink; grandson, Michael and Janet DeBoard. She cherished her special friends who became family: David, Pamela, Whitney, and Nicholas. Grandmama also loved her grand-pets: Lizzie, Mickey, Porter, and Zeppelin. Irene always put the Lord first in her life. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Hendersonville, a bible teacher, and a mentor. Having such a giving heart, she devoted much of her time to missions, leading mission trips, and supporting missionaries. She was blessed to spend 61 years with her sweetheart, and together they traveled the world. As a matter of fact, she went on 20 cruises and had visited all but just a few of the states in the U.S. Adding to her list of accomplishments, she was a professor at Long Beach City College and Cerritos College and a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She owned and operated a catering business making delicious cakes and sweets. Most of all, she loved her family and was an adored wife, mother, and Grandmama. Blessed with the talent of being very creative, she was a light of encouragement to so many people and enjoyed reaching out to them through her "Card Ministry." Even when not feeling her best, she managed to send out 44 cards in one month. She was musically gifted, and enjoyed listening to music as well as playing many instruments. A celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at 11am in the chapel of Hendersonville Funeral Home with Pastor Richard Gaia officiating. Burial will follow in Hendersonville Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 from 4pm-8pm and on Wednesday, October 5, from 10am-11am at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Hendersonville Mission Fund.
