Irene Frances Andrews, age 93, of Gallatin, TN passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2020. A celebration of life service for Irene will be held on Monday, March 16 at 10:00AM at Hendersonville First United Methodist Church, with inurnment to follow in Hendersonville Memory Gardens Mausoleum. The family will accept visitors at Hendersonville Funeral Home in the stateroom on Sunday March 15 from 3:00PM - 6:00PM. Visitation will continue Monday morning at Hendersonville First United Methodist Church from 9:00AM until service time at 10:00AM.

Irene leaves behind a legacy of enduring love and compassion as a daughter, registered nurse, wife, mother, grandmother, & great grandmother. Her love of music led her to join the choir at First United Methodist Church in 1971 , and to found handbell choirs for youth and adults, which she led for 1 6 years. An active member of her Companions Sunday School class and her church, Irene started a Prayer Shawl ministry there in 2007. Irene had a rare creative talent which she continued to use until her last days. She handcrafted hundreds of museum-quality quilts and won multiple awards. A Master Quilter and certi�ed quilt instructor, she was a charter member of the Tennessee Valley Quilters' Association and the local Lakeshore Quilt Guild.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 67 years, Loren Andrews; her parents, James and Rachel McGuire; her step-mother, Laura McGuire; and sister, Helen Bundy.
She is survived by her son, Bruce Andrews (Leslie); son, Keith Andrews (Judy) ; daughter, Joyce Adams (David), son, Brent Andrews (Sheila), daughter Gayle Sullivan (Steve). Grandchildren: Kimberly Kelley, Krista Post, Scott Andrews, Paul Andrews, Rachel Nunner, Catherine Andrews, Sarah Andrews, Carrie Alexander, Heather Henderson, Laura Ru�, Ashley Williams, Katie Jones, Jessica Deras, Jennifer Owens as well as 21 Great-Grandchildren; her sister Alice Sturtz (Donald) and numerous nieces & nephews.

Irene was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend to many. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

In lieu of �owers, the family requests that donations be made to Companion Sunday School class at Hendersonville First United Methodist Church or Lakeshore Quilt Club. Alternatively you may donate to a nonpro�t of your choice in Irene's memory.
