Howard Harper

Howard R. Harper of Millersville, TN passed away at home on Saturday, August 25, 2018. Rickey was born July 24, 1949 in Chattanooga, TN, son of the late Howard L. and Betty J. (Overturf) Harper. Rickey was a career military man, proudly serving in the United States Air Force, retiring a Master Sergeant as a member of the 4450th Tactical Air Command Nighthawks. After his career in the military, Rickey went on to work for another 20 years as a mechanic at Hoeganaes Corporation in Gallatin. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time riding his motorcycle. He was a proud member of the NRA and assisted with several programs assisting veterans. Rickey is survived by his sons, Mike (Sherry) Harper and Austin (Dani) Harper; grandchildren, Ashley (Robbie) Helms, Mac (Emily) Carter, Cody Harper and Abby Harper; sister, Karen Harper Mahoney; niece, Courtney Benson. Graveside services will be held with military honors on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at 1pm, Hendersonville Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
