H.L. "Mac" McDole, of Hendersonville, TN, passed away on Thursday, August 11, 2016, at the age of 83. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rebecca Faye McDole (Gillum), parents, Andrew J. McDole and Vonnie McDole (Hire), and sister, Bea Hall.
Survived by his children; Karen Vanstone (Keith), Lee McDole, Tammy Newby, and Kevin Yant, grandchildren; Susan Burden (Tony), Dana Reafsnyder, Justin Newby, Jessica Newby (Sam) and Andrew McDole, great-grandchildren; Tyler Walker, Isaac LaBuda, Olivia Walker and Zeke Reafsnyder. He is also survived by many nephews, nieces and other extended family and friends.
Mr. McDole was born on September 1, 1932 in Westmoreland, TN. He was a United States Marine Corps veteran and worked as a car salesman for many auto dealers in the middle Tennessee area. He also restored, rebuilt, and raced cars. He loved caring for his yard, watching auto racing and watching his grandchildren playing various sports. He was a kind and loving family man with a sense of humor and a strong faith. While working as a car salesman, he was always honest and fair with his customers. He was known to his family as a true gentleman and will be dearly missed.
A Life Celebration for Mr. McDole will be held at Hendersonville Funeral Home on Monday, August 15, 2016 at 10:00AM. Visitation will be held Sunday, August 14, 2016 from 2:00PM - 6:00PM and one hour prior to the service on Monday. Interment will take place at Hendersonville Memory Gardens with Military Honors.
