Hilda Mitchell

Mrs. Hilda Yvonne Mitchell age 89, of Hendersonville, TN, passed away on Monday January 22, 2024. 

Mrs. Mitchell was born in Oaktown, TN on December 19, 1934, the daughter of the late Landis Johnson and Jewell Johnson. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, gardening, and volunteering at schools. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and the Smiley Faces 4H club. She was a member of the Hendersonville Church of Christ. She had many friends and family that she enjoyed spending time with. She was married to her late husband for 63 years. They were high school sweethearts. Mrs. Mitchell was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Edward “Eddie” Mitchell Sr, her son Edward “Buddy” Mitchell Jr, and her granddaughter Allison Germer Beebe. 

The survivors include her remaining four children, Carol Germer (Dave), Connie Brownlee (James), Christy York (Todd), and Michael “Mike” Mitchell (Terresa); eleven grandchildren Emily Germer Shepard, Megan Germer Bernabe, Andrew Germer, Wesley Burr, Chelsea Brownlee, Madison Mitchell, Erin Mitchell Saucedo, Mitchell York, Madeline York, and Maxwell York; four great grandchildren Jackson Bernabe, Ameila Bernabe, Paige Bernabe, and Lyle Beebe; brother Ray Johnson, and sister Linda (Kenneth) Ledbetter. 

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday January 28, 2024 at 3:00 pm at the Hendersonville Memory Gardens Funeral Home  with visitation prior to the services starting at 12:00 pm. Entombment will follow on Monday January 29, 2024 at 1:00 pm.
