Herb Duer, well respected in the Business Furniture industry passed away suddenly on Sunday, June 18, 2017. He's been in the industry for 36+ years. Always looked forward to Neocon, the main convention for the business furniture industry. While there he loved reuniting with so many of his industry friends.
Born June 10, 1940, raised on the Eastern Shore of Virginia in the town of Onancock. A graduate of the University of Richmond. Ran cross-country and played baseball while at the University of Richmond.
Avid horseman throughout his life dating back to 10 years old with his first pony named "Pardner". Enjoyed hanging out at the stable on weekends. Lover of golf, baseball (avid fan of Baltimore Orioles), sports cars, Willie Nelson and books by Larry McMurtry
Enjoyed trips to the beach with wife Kathy, "guy" trips with his nephews, son and brother, golf outings with his industry friends. Always enjoyed visiting his brother and family in Cleveland, Ohio.
If you knew Herb, you were a friend for life.
Survived by his wife Kathy Duer, son Scott (Diana) Duer, of Midway, UT Stepdaughter Lindsay (Luke) Trantum of Gallatin, TN. Brother Bill Duer of Cleveland, Ohio, nephews Ben, Brian, James Duer and niece Emily Quarrick, 6 great nephews and 2 great nieces and two grandsons.
Memorial Service will be held Saturday, June 24 at Hendersonville Funeral Home. Visitation is 1-2:30pm, service begins at 2:30pm with internment immediately following in the Memory Gardens.
