Helen Reese

Helen O’Neal Reese, age 82, passed away on January 18, 2023.  Helen was born on July 24, 1940 in Adolphus, Kentucky to the late Marvin and Idress O’neal.  She is also preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bob” Reese and 12 siblings.

Helen is survived by children, James “Jimmy” Reese (Bernice), David Reese (Marilyn), and Allyson Collins (Kenny); grandchildren, James Reese (Lisa Whitaker), Kayla Dorris, Chris Escue, Tracy Rhinehart, and Seth Rhinehart (Jada); four great-grandchildren and anticipating her fifth; and sisters, Nancy Campbell (Marshall), Mary Meadows (Darrell), and Betty Saltsman; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bob and Helen lived in Chicago for 15 years before relocating to the Gallatin/Hendersonville area.  Helen was a homemaker who enjoyed baking, cleaning, and spending time with her grandchildren.  She was a member of Cornerstone General Baptist Church.  Helen was an Avon Lady who achieved President’s Club.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 22, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Hendersonville Funeral Home.  Funeral Service will be held on Monday, January 23, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. with visitation held two hours prior to the service at Hendersonville Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society or American Heart Association.
