Harvey Porter

Mr. Harvey Cecil Porter, age 91, passed away on January 2, 2020 in Hendersonville, TN. He was born on May 1, 1928 in Charlotte NC to the late Harvey G. Porter and Bessie Simpson.

Cecil was a proud World War II vet. He also enjoyed singing Blue Grass and Gospel music, he especially loved listening to The Florida Boys and The Hinsons. When he lived in Orlando, he was a member of the group, Messengers Quartet. He was a loving father, grandfather, and friend who will be truly missed.

Cecil is survived by his children, David Porter, Jan Queen, Jeffrey Porter, and Alison Wittman; six grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

A life celebration will be held at 3pm, Sunday, January 12, 2020 at United Church of the Nazarene in Orlando, Florida.
