Age 71 of Hendersonville, TN passed away June 29, 2016.

Mr. West retired from Pirelli Armstrong Tire after 30 yrs. of service. He enjoyed gardening, dancing, and camping. Above all, spending time with his family was always a top priority which brought him great joy.

When it came to his passion for the outdoors and camping, Harry will be remembered most for his "camping checklist" which helped ensure nothing was ever left at home. As the years passed, the West family matured from having a tent to an air-conditioned camper which was fully equipped with a bathroom and shower. Even though camping became somewhat more luxurious, be assured the family was still roughing it. The usual venues for camping out were The Cedars of Lebanon State Park and Defeated Creek Park.

Harry was a graduate of Smith County High School, and he attended regular monthly gatherings with his classmates in recent years. Keeping in touch with his friends was another priority in his life. He was particularly gifted in interpersonal communication...he loved talking with people. In fact, his daily routine included a meeting with his "Breakfast Buddies" at Ruby's Kitchen in Hendersonville. Occasionally, the group was referred to as the "Biscuit Club."

He is preceded in death by his parents, Maude Henry West and Lillie Mae (Sircy) West; 4 brothers and 1 sister.

Survivors include his wife of 49 yrs, Betty McCall West; son, Jamey (Pam) West; daughter, Paula West; 3 grandchildren; Abigail West, Lyndsay and Jon Russell; 1 great grandchild, Rylan Russell; brothers, Jack West and Jimmy (Charlene) West.

The family will be receiving friends Saturday, July 2nd from 1pm - 3 pm, with a memorial service to follow in the chapel of Hendersonville Funeral Home, 353 Johnny Cash Pkwy, Hendersonville, TN

Honorary Pallbearers include Ron Utley, Donnie Harbison, Lyle McCall, Jerry Butler, David Gibbs, and Phillip Anderson.
