Gloria Jean Ashworth, age 74, of Gallatin, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, September 26, 2014.

Jean was born September 6, 1940 in Lebanon, TN to the late Conie and Evelyn Jenkins and is also preceded in death by her husband, Carl E. Ashworth. She is survived by her daughters, Mebra Kirby (Terry) of Birmingham, AL, Melanie McMurray (Grover) of Gallatin, Mindy Hall (Mark) of Gallatin, Shelly Warren (Kenny) of Hendersonville; grandchildren, April and Joshua Kirby, Thomas Pugh (Lauren), Jordan and Emily Hall, Courtney and Callie Warren; and one great granddaughter, Olivia Annaleigh Pugh; 3 siblings, Joyce Downs (Brad) and Conie Jenkins, Jr. and Terry Oakes (Tom).

Jean was a member of Hendersonville First Baptist Church and formerly a long time member of College Heights Baptist Church. She was a selfless, loving mother and devoted grandmother, wonderful cook and most famous for her banana pudding. We would like to thank Dr. Dianna Shipley and the staff of Tennessee Oncology, the nurses of High Point Healthcare and most recent caregiver, Cindy Garrison.

Visitation for Mrs. Ashworth will be at Hendersonville Funeral Home 353 Johnny Cash Pky, Hendersonville, TN on Sunday, September 28, 2014 from 4-8 PM and on Monday, September 29th at Hendersonville First Baptist Church from 12:30 - 2:30 PM with funeral services to follow. Interment will be in Hendersonville Memory Gardens.

Brother Larry Gilmore will be officiating with honorary pall bearers to include Jackie Diel's Sunday School Class of Hendersonville First Baptist Church.
Pall bearers will include son-in-laws, Terry Kirby, Grover McMurray, Mark Hall, Kenny Warren and grandsons, Thomas Pugh, Jordan Hall and Joshua Kirby.
