Age 78 of Hendersonville, formerly of Paducah, KY passed away on July 24, 2015. Gerald was born June 11, 1937 in McCracken County Kentucky to Mary and George Bobo, who preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Carolyn S. Bobo; daughter, Terri L. Bobo; and son, Jerry L. Bobo of Nashville.
Gerald graduated from Heath High School in McCracken County, KY in 1955 and began a career with the airlines that same year. He was in customer service with Ozark Airlines in Paducah and was transferred to Nashville in 1981, working with Trans World Airlines, and then retiring from American Airlines in 1998 after 43 years of faithful service.
Gerald was baptized in the Palestine Methodist Church in West Paducah, KY around the age of eleven, and later joined the First Baptist Church of Paducah, where he was very active as a deacon and Sunday School Director of the Young Married Couples Department. Upon moving to Hendersonville, he joined the Hendersonville First Baptist Church, and served as a greeter, Deacon, and Sunday School Director of Young Adults.
He served in the U. S. Army Reserves 439th Civil Affairs Unit in Fort Gordon, GA in 1961 and 1962.
Gerald was very devoted to his family, and managed to maintain a strong work ethic which he instilled in his children. He was a sports fanatic, and especially loved the Kentucky Wildcats. He enjoyed walking, bicycling, working in the yard, and being outdoors.
The family would like to thank the staff at NHC of Hendersonville for the care given to Gerald during his courageous thirteen-year-long battle with Parkinson's Disease.

A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, July 28 at 2 p.m. Visitation will be held Monday, July 27 from 4 p.m.-8 p.m. and Tuesday, July 28 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. All services will be held at HENDERSONVILLE FUNERAL HOME 353 E.
