George Robert Dillon of Gallatin, TN went to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 9, 2018. Bob was born October 5, 1929 in Knightstown, IN to the late George O. and Ruth (Irwin) Dillon. After graduation from High School, Bob went on to attend and graduate with his Bachelor's Degree from the University of Nebraska, while also proudly serving our country in the United States Air Force. He was a very active member for many years at the Hendersonville Church of Christ, where he also started the Senior Moments group. In his spare time, he loved watching and trading on the stock market, as well as watching all types of sporting events. Bob will be remembered as a loving, friendly, outgoing and honest person and will be missed by all who were blessed to know him. On April 17, 1949 Bob was united in marriage to his loving and faithful wife of over 69 years, Ruth (DeLay) Dillon, who survives. Also surviving are his children, Mark (Karla) Dillon and Andrea Dillon; grandchildren, Josh (Lindsay) Proctor, Jacob (Lindsay) Proctor, Ryan (Jessie) Dillon and Ross Dillon; great-grandchildren, Julia, Jenna, Jack, Lara, Gabby and Scarlett. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 from 4-8pm at Hendersonville Funeral Home (353 E. Main St; Hendersonville, TN 37075) and again on Wednesday, June 13 from 11am-12pm where a celebration of life will take place at 12 noon. Interment will follow with full military honors at Hendersonville Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hendersonville Church of Christ. The family would like to offer their eternal gratitude to the Hendersonville Church of Christ and the Elders for all of the help and support during this difficult time.
