Mrs. Freida Walker Smith, age 101, of Hendersonville, TN went to be with her heavenly father Thursday, October 11, 2018 surrounded by her family. She was born May 21, 1917 in Kokomo, MS to the late Fleet and Jewett (Allen) Walker. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Nathan J. Smith; sons, Otto Smith and Jerry L. Smith; great-granddaughters, Rachel and Rebekah Molen; and brother, Winton Walker.
Freida was a member of Hays Creek Baptist Church in Franklinton, LA. After moving to Hendersonville, she attended Sunday school and was in the Ambassador Choir at First Baptist Church. Freida loved to read mystery books, played the piano, enjoyed bus trips, and kept her hands busy with crochet and embroidery projects. She was very proud to be the wife of a dairy farmer and loved her family.
Freida is survived by her son, Larry Smith (Maureen); daughter, Carolyn White (Bob); daughter-in-law, Margie Smith; grandchildren, Laureida Dooley, Terri Mulhearn, Sherri Molen, Jeffrey Smith, Gregory Smith and Dina Schnurman; great-grandchildren, Doug "Bubba" Dooley, Stephanie Fisher, Jessica Pawling, Tyler Molen, Caleb Smith, Lily Schnurman, Nathaniel Schnurman, Michelle Mulhearn and Carlee Mulhearn; and great great-granddaughter, Rayna Fisher.
A life celebration service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, October 15, 2018 at Hays Creek Baptist Church in Franklinton, LA. The family will receive friends from 10 - 11. Interment will follow service in the adjoining cemetery. Hendersonville Memory Gardens, Funeral Home and Cremation Center assisting the family.
