Evelyn G. Hnott-Brayton

Evelyn Shelton Hnott-Brayton, age 89, passed away April 21, 2024 in Andalusia AL along with her two daughters, Debby and Linda. She was a beloved mother, sister, grandmother and friend.  

Evelyn was an active member of the Nashville Women’s Club, where she served as President in 2017. She loved playing bridge and often had a game lined up every day of the week. 

Evelyn had her master’s degree in nursing and spent her career working for the VA hospital in Nashville. After she retired, she continued to work part-time in home-health, often taking care of hospice patients.

She is survived by her grandchildren, Casey LaMarr (Matt), Jack Wall (Sasha), Jorel Katcher (Trisha), Kasem Alkasem and Sammy Alkasem; her great-grandchildren, Cade LaMarr, Ella Grace LaMarr, Maggie Quinn LaMarr, and Waylon Wall, her sister, Barbara Mitchell (Boyd) and her brothers, Eugene Shelton (Marlene) and Danny Shelton (Jane)

Funeral services will be held at Hendersonville First United Methodist Church on Friday, April 26 at 10:00 am. Visitation with the family will be on Thursday, April 25 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Hendersonville Memory Gardens and from 9:00 am to 10:00 am on Friday April 26 at Hendersonville First United Methodist Church.
