Eugene Burgess, age 60, of Hendersonville, TN, passed away on Friday, October 7, 2016. Preceded in death by his parents, William H. and Margaret Burgess and sisters, Linda Castleman and Barbara Brigance.
Eugene is survived by his sister, Patsy (Wayne) Cole and brother, William T. Burgess, along with 2 nephews, 1 niece and many other extended family and friends.
Eugene was born on September 18, 1956 in Gallatin, TN to William H. Burgess and Margaret Sue Woodard. He worked as a custodian for 26 years with the Sumner County School System. Eugene was an avid football fan, enjoyed farming and John Deere tractors. He never met a stranger and always had a smile. He had a caring heart and always put others before himself. Eugene was known to wave at everyone that passed by from his front porch. He will be dearly missed by his family and by all who knew him.

A graveside service for Eugene will be held at Hendersonville Memory Gardens on Thursday, October 13th at 11AM, officiated by Pastor Jerry Peace. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 12th from 5PM-7PM and again on Thursday from 10AM-10:45AM.
