Etta Mae Barnes of Hendersonville, TN passed away Wednesday, February 28, 2018 in Hendersonville. Etta was born January 26, 1923 in Cheatham County, TN to the late John F. and Celia A. (Turntine) Rose. Etta was a woman who was full of life and had a great sense of humor, always up for a good joke. She worked for the Hendersonville School District for over 27yrs. She was very close to her friends and family and will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of over 66 years, Lloyd Barnes, as well as 2 grandsons. Surviving are her 8 children, Lloyd (Ivy) Barnes, Donald (Molly) Barnes, Michael Barnes, Helen (Mike) Kelly, David Barnes, Randall Barnes, Steve Barnes and Scott (Diane) Barnes; 15 grandchildren and countless great grands and great grands. Family will receive friends on Friday, March 2 from 12p-2p at the Hendersonville Funeral Home where funeral services will follow at 2pm. Interment alongside her husband will follow the service at Hendersonville Memory Gardens.
