Erskine P. Ausbrooks III, Ph.D., "Tracy", of Dyersburg, passed away on July 10, 2016, at the age of 65. He is survived by his father, Erskine P. Ausbrooks, Jr., brothers, Jon Russell Ausbrooks and Daniel Perry Ausbrooks, and nieces Ashlyn and Hailey Ausbrooks, all of Hendersonville. In addition, he is survived by many Ausbrooks and Russell cousins and a multitude of friends, his chosen family, of which there are way too many to name. Erskine was preceded in death by his loving mother, Helen Virginia Russell Ausbrooks, and a brother, Jason.
Known as Tracy to his family and Erskine to his neighbors and friends, he was always cherished as a loving and giving person to everyone. As an esteemed educator for many years at Dyersburg State Community College, he will be remembered as a much loved professor and mentor, and a treasured colleague. Erskine was a nationally recognized artist and his life was an inspiration to all who knew him. He was a member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Dyersburg.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, July 15th, at Hendersonville Funeral Home, 353 E. Main Street in Hendersonville. A Life Celebration will be held on Saturday, July 16th, at the funeral home at 2:00 p.m., with visitation one hour prior. Burial will follow at Hendersonville Memory Gardens.
