Mrs. Emily McCrorie Wilson, age 81, of Hendersonville went to be with her Heavenly Father Friday,
November 24, 2017. She was born December 25, 1935 in Fairfield, Alabama and is remembered by her family as a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend.

Emily donated much of her time to community service. Her community involvement upon moving to Hendersonville began in 1973 when she joined Hendersonville Key to the City. She graduated from the Leadership Sumner Program, was a volunteer for CASA, Meals on Wheels and served on the Sumner County Foster Care Review Board. Emily also served as an Elder at the Hendersonville First Presbyterian Church where she was a member of the Handbell and Adult Choir, served on the Day School Board and participated in mission projects.

Emily attended Volunteer State Community College and earned her Associate Degree when she was in her 40's graduating Summa Cum Laude. She worked in many roles with the Federal Government eventually retiring from the United States Postal Service. After retirement, she worked as a tax preparer for H & R Block for 15 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Linzie Wilson; sister, Mary Catherine Jones and brother, James McCrorie.

She is survived by her son, David Wilson; daughter, Janet Sutton (Tommy); grandsons, Blake Wilson, Jake Smith and Dylan Sutton; granddaughters, Jill Smith and Rachel Wilson; sister, Ann McCrorie Day and many beloved nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at 3 o'clock p.m. Friday, December 1, 2017 at
Hendersonville First Presbyterian Church with Pastor Michael Davis officiating. The family will receive friends from 12 noon - 2 o'clock p.m. Friday, December 1, at Hendersonville Funeral Home. A private burial will take place at a later date at Hendersonville Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Sumner County CASA, 182 W. Franklin Street, Gallatin, TN 37066.
