ADAMS, Ella Ruth- age 85 went to be with the Lord on February 12, 2014.
She was born in Limestone County, AL on September 1, 1928 to the late Charlie and Mary Susan Elizabeth Dison. She was a woman of faith and was a devoted member of Holiday Heights Baptist Church for more than 40 years. Ella Ruth had a natural talent for fixing anything in her home especially stoves. She had a green thumb and she loved flowers as well as her vegetable garden. Ella Ruth never met a stranger. She would help anyone and she made sure no one ever left her house hungry. She will forever be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother and friend who will be deeply missed.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Harry L. Adams and son, Jimmie Dwight Adams. She is survived by her children, Carolyn Ivy (V.L.), Harry Stanley Adams (Maryanne), Diane Massey (Mervyn), Beverly Hanke (David), Teresa Wey (Gary), Paula Faye Kelley and Donna Renae Sutton (Mike); 20 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
A Life Celebration Service will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Hendersonville Funeral Home with Brother Herbert Wilson officiating.
