Eleanor Heinrich

June 30, 1929 — January 26, 2016

Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on June 30, 1929 Departed on January 26, 2016 and resided in Tuscaloosa, AL

Eleanor Heinrich was born to Werner and Clara Senn on June 30, 1929 and grew up on Larkin St in Shorewood, a suburb of Milwaukee. She attended Shorewood High School and later Milwaukee Downer College, majoring in social work. She played field hockey, was on the rowing team and graduated Phi Beta Kappa. The Senns and Heinrichs spent time together which was the perfect opportunity for Eleanor and Allan to meet and fall in love. They were married on June 21, 1952 at St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Wauwatosa, Wi. Eleanor and Allan had two sons, Mark and Craig and lived on Concord Rd, Lakeland Dr., and later South Beach Rd., all in Oconomowoc, Wi. Eleanor loved tennis, roller blading, bike riding, ice skating, water skiing, wind surfing, snow skiing and pursued all of them with vigor. She excelled at competitive tennis, playing several times per week in summer and winter. She would roller blade or ride her bike daily at a very brisk pace, which always made keeping up with her a serious challenge. We all remember her zooming ahead, then stopping, looking back and waiting for the rest of us to catch-up. She and Allan especially looked forward to their snow ski vacations every year in December. Since the early 1970's, they would ski at Snowmass, Co. and stay at the Mountain Chalet, enjoying the "hearty skiers breakfast" before skiing down to the lift for a great day on the mountain. Eleanor and Allan had a strong faith and attended worship and Sunday School classes faithfully. Churches they attended included St. Matthews in Wauwatosa, Dr. Martin Luther in Oconomowoc, and Christ the King in Delafield. Eleanor never met a stranger and was loved very much by her husband, sons, daughter-in-laws, and grand-children. We all treasure the time we had with her and will remember her sharp mind, superior athletic ability and good humor.

The family will receive friends at their home (715 Cumberland Hills Drive Hendersonville, TN) from 3-5pm Thursday January 28.
