Edwin "Paul" Batia, Jr. - Age 78, went to be with the lord on June 23, 2016.
He was born on April 8, 1938 in Biloxi, MS to Edwin Paul Batia, Sr. and Mary Batia. He was a graduate from Van Cleave, MS High School and later drafted into the United States Army. He served his country honorably from 1961 to 1967. After serving his country he was in the music industry across the states of Mississippi, Louisiana and Oklahoma. Later he became a top rated sales person with Garrett's furniture and eventually ending up with Haverty's Furniture in Hendersonville where he retired from in 2004.
Preceded in death by his wife of 32 years, Freda Batia; sisters, Susan Elizabeth Batia & Vickie Wilkerson. Survived by his daughter, Paula Ra'Chelle Byus (Jamie), Danette Maxwell (Glenn Purcell), Tanya Knott,sisters, Maryanne Batia, Carolyn Tyndel, Lorraine Stutts; brothers, O.C. Westbrook and Danny Pounds; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
A Life Celebration will be held 2:00pm, Tuesday. Visitation will be 12:00pm - 2:00pm, Tuesday at Hendersonville Funeral Home, 353 East Main Street, Hendersonville, TN, 37075 615-824-3855 hendersonvillefh.com
