Edna Curtis, 102, died Wednesday, October 14th with family by her side. Edna was born August 8, 1913 to Robert and Ethel Kizer. She was one of the original Hendersonville residents. On June 9, 1934, she married her husband of 68 years, Henry Curtis. She worked for Dupont and served and a substitute teacher. She was an active member of the Hendersonville Church of Christ. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who offered the best home cooked meal to anyone who stepped foot in her home. She made coconut cakes from scratch for loved ones birthdays because that was her favorite flavor. She liked to fish, go on car trips with her family, and loved animals. She was a straight-shooter, with a passion for life and unparalleled love for her family. Edna is survived by her two children, Pat Curtis and Jean Deaton; her grandchildren Hank Hewgley, Mark Hewgley, Kathy Bryant and Dane Bryant; her great-grandchildren Dana and Jeff Hentschel. She is preceded in death by her husband Henry and all 5 siblings.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday October 17, 2015 at 11am in the chapel of Hendersonville Funeral Home with Brother Keith Parker officiating. Burial will follow in Hendersonville Memory Gardens.
