Dr. Harry Yates born August 3rd, 1943 in Sandusky, OH entered into eternal life September 3rd, 2021. In Gallatin, TN surrounded by family. In 1970 He came to Nashville, TN where he gave his heart to the Lord. On December 27th, 1971 he married his wife Joanne and they began their life of ministry. Harry earned three doctorates in divinity, theology, and religious education and a PhD in Counseling. In 1990 Harry and Joanne founded the Nashville Cowboy Church where he and Joanne were pastors. Harry also served as a Chaplin and then Chaplin Coordinator at TriStar Skyline Medical Center.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Joanne Cash Yates, sister Mary Boggs, brother Jimmy Yates (Elsie), daughters Rhonda Ponessa (Anthony), Jennifer Gaither (Derrick), Terry Parr (Dan), Charlotte Allen (Bobby), son Harry Yates III, Ted Yates (Kerry), Jeff Ingle. 24 Grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren. Proceeded in death by parents Maxine and Harry Yates Sr., brother Jackie and sister Johnnie.
Visitation 10-12Noon, Funeral 12:00 Noon Friday, September 10th, Hendersonville Memory Gardens. The family has requested that all attending visitation and the service please wear a mask and practice social distancing.
