Dr. James Martin Rollins, 69, of Hendersonville died peacefully in his sleep on May 28, 2017. He was born in Tullahoma, Tennessee, the youngest of three children of Earl and Lena Rollins. He served Hendersonville and the surrounding areas as a dentist for 40 years before retiring. Dr. Rollins was an active member of his community and spent his life serving others. He was a member at Indian Lake Peninsula Church (formerly known as Bluegrass Baptist Church) and previously a member of Hendersonville First Baptist Church. Dr. Rollins was married to Laetitia Anderson Rollins and they have three children, Michelle Simmons, Angela Simmons, and Matt Rollins. He coached all of his children in various sports and supported many sports teams throughout his lifetime. He was an active person who was known to say, "I love life and the Lord."

He is survived by wife Laetitia Rollins, daughters Michelle Simmons and Angela Simmons, son Matt Rollins (Alaina), and granddaughter Keira Rollins. He is also survived by niece Denise Kelly, nephew Brad Kelly (Stacee), niece Lena Kelly, sister-in-law Stephanie Rollins, niece Brittany Belcher, brother-in-law Jonnie Anderson (Nancy), nephew David Anderson, niece Brittany Freeman (Eric), and nieces Jordan and Mason Freeman, and nephews Jeff and Sandy Rollins.

Dr. Rollins was predeceased by parents Earl and Lena Rollins, sister Mary Ellen Parker, and brother William "Bill" Earl Rollins.

Pallbearers are Matt Rollins, David Anderson, Eric Freeman, Brad Kelly, Chris Mimms, Rob Mudrak and Daniel Balsbaugh.

Honorary pallbearers are all of the members of the Hendersonville First Baptist Church Men's Softball team coached by Doug Batson.

Visitation hours will be 4-8 P.M. at Hendersonville Funeral Home, Tuesday, May 30th, and 10:30-11:30 A.M. Wednesday, May 31st, at Indian Lake Peninsula Church, followed by a Life Celebration Service at 11:30 A.M., also at Indian Lake Peninsula Church.
