Dr. John Berry Middleton-age 63, went to be with our Lord on Sunday, March 30, 2014. As a young man, he played trumpet and was active in Boy Scouts, rising to the level of Eagle Scout in the Order of the Arrow. He was also an assistant Scout master of Troop 75 in Hendersonville. Born and raised in Arcadia, LA, he was a Family Practice Doctor there for 8 years, and practiced in Hendersonville for 16 years. He was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Middleton. Berry is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Jeanne Walden Middleton; sons, Peter and Daniel Middleton; daughter, Jennifer (Jake) Holt; 4 grandchildren, Jackson, Joseph, Eliana, and Elise Holt. He is also survived by his father, Henry Middleton (Ruth); brothers, Huson (Kathy), Tom (Alice), Bruce (Jan); sister, Kathleen (Sam) Newell; and many nephews and nieces.
A life celebration service will be held on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at 10 a.m. in the Chapel of Long Hollow Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Hendersonville Memory Gardens.
