Dr. Ray Fuller was called home to be with the Lord on January 26th. He was 74 years young. Dr. Fuller is survived by his wife, Joan, children; Jeff Fuller, Abby and Jonny Eubank, Gregg and Julie Fuller. Grandchildren: Austin, Lily, Jack, and Sam. Sisters: Mary Hunter, Diane Manogue, and Patricia Francis.

Dr. Fuller has been a member of First Baptist Church Hendersonville for 26 years and served in the choir. Dr. Fuller also taught an Adult Connect Group, served on the Global Impact Committee and was a Bible teacher for 2nd grade children's choir. He loved sharing Christ with everyone, especially children. Dr. Fuller and his wife Joan traveled with Pastor Bruce Chesser on his annual trips and he cared for those who got sick or injured while they were away.

Dr. Ray Fuller put Christ first in everything he did and had a servant's heart. He compassionately cared for his patients in every way, from their physical wellbeing to their spiritual life. His loved his family unconditionally. No one could love a wife more than Ray loved his precious Joan. They were married for 51 years.

COVID-19 is a cruel, insidious, selfish, unpredictable bully. It has taken one of the finest people to grace the planet, as well as a beloved longtime member of our community. Our hearts are shattered. Dr. Fuller was the epitome of the old-school, patient-focused doctor: compassionate, brilliant, kind, patient, and generous with his time and resources. Quick with a joke, words of wisdom, or answers to questions day or night. He freely gave patients his personal cell phone number, donated countless hours to NHC, his church family, and the community at large. He didn't let COVID-19 keep him from the patients that he gave so much of his life to, but sadly, the virus didn't regard his daily life-saving efforts. Dr. Fuller will be dearly missed and forever be an inspiration to us all.

A celebration of life service for Dr. Fuller will be held in the Worship Center at First Baptist Church Hendersonville on Sunday, January 31, 2021 at 4:00 PM, officiated by Pastor Bruce Chesser. Visitation for family and friends will begin at 2:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Dr. Fuller's name can be made to the First Baptist Church Hendersonville missions and music ministries.
