Dorothy Jean Welch

Dorothy Jean Cripps Welch, 91, of Crossville Tennessee, went to her heavenly home on Saturday, September 4, 2021. She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother and a faithful woman who loved the Lord, family, church and community.

Jean was born in Liberty, Tennessee on August 21, 1930, to William S. and Tassie Bell (Farler) Cripps.  She is survived by her beloved husband of 57 years, Jerry William Welch; her daughter, Jeanie Welch Morgan and husband Gerald, of Hendersonville, TN; her son, Jeffrey L. Welch and wife Regina, of Richmond Hill, GA; along with her grandchildren, Kristen Morgan, Daniel Morgan, Sarah Hockaday, Jonathan Rector and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by sister, Mildred Irene Cripps Horswill; brother, Dewey Dawes (D.D.) Cripps, and grandson, Jason Neil Morgan.

No funeral or memorial service is planned as that was Jean’s wishes.    The family will hold a special gathering at her favorite vacation spot, Myrtle Beach, SC, in the spring.  Donations may be made in her memory to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or HighPoint Hospice, 300 Steam Plant Road, Suite 220, Gallatin, TN 37066.
