Dorothy "Dottie" Simmons

Dorothy “Dottie” Ann Simmons, age 87 of Hendersonville, TN passed away after a lengthy illness on Thursday, September 15th, 2022.

She was born in Jackson, Tennessee on October 23, 1934, and was preceded in death by her parents Eugene Martin and Pauline Loraine White Smith and brother Kenneth Radford Smith.  Dottie is survived by her devoted children, son, Lee Simmons (Julia) of Jackson, TN and daughter, Lisa Kozma (Kyle) of Hendersonville, TN; grandchildren, Kyle, Annah, and Meredith Simmons; great-grandchild Elliot Simmons; nephew, Kenneth Rhea “Ken” Smith of Jackson, TN.

Dottie attended Mississippi College for Women following her graduation from Jackson High School. She lived a full life devoted to her children, family, and friends. She enjoyed many accomplishments including and lengthy career with the State of TN. Dottie was an accomplished pianist and could bring any venue to life as soon as her graceful fingers tickled the ivories. Her early life accomplishments consisted of a successful radio broadcast program out of Jackson, TN, and valued staff member of The Jackson Sun Newspaper. She was a lover of dogs and all things equestrian.

Please join the family in celebrating Dottie’s life Friday, September 23, 2022, at Hendersonville Memory Gardens Mausoleum. Visitation 1pm- Services at 2pm. Interment following the services.
