Dorothy "Dot" Louise Harrison went home to be with the Lord on August 7th, 2017 at the age of 87. Preceded in death by her parents, Dora and JE Jones; husband of 55 years Royce Harrison; one sister, Ruth Evans McCullough. Survived by daughter Deborah Sekerke, son Michael Harrison (Holly); granddaughter Elizabeth Grace Harrison and grandsons John Royce Harrison and Steven Sekerke.

Dot so very much loved her family, cherished her friendships with neighbors and church friends and truly adored her grandchildren. A longtime member of Hendersonville First Baptist Church, she was very involved throughout the years and was a member of the LOVE II Sunday School class. With her failing health over the years, they continued to support and stay in touch with her. Dot loved to visit with neighbors and loved to laugh. She was a kind and gentle lady who loved to help others in times of need. Dot will be greatly missed but now is in no pain and is now at home with our Lord and Savior. The family would like to thank each of you who have been incredibly supportive with prayers, cards and words of encouragement.

Visitation will be 5pm to 9pm on Tuesday, August 15th at Hendersonville Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at church. Funeral services will be conducted at 11AM on Wednesday, August 16th in the chapel at First Baptist Church, with Dr. Bruce Chesser and Richard Gaia officiating. Entrance to the chapel can be made via the carport located north of the main sanctuary entrance. Interment will follow the service at Hendersonville Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers: John Royce Harrison, Steven Sekerke, Chris Laird, Preston Rowland, Chase Yancey and Matt Powers. Honorary pallbearers: Hanson Laird, Chuck Yancey, Ken Powers, Randy Evans, Mac Short and Tim Prow.
