Dorothy Ruth Carris, age 87 of Hendersonville, TN passed away peacefully on Friday, November 9, 2018 at NHC of Hendersonville. Dorothy was born April 12, 1931 in Ft. Lauderdale, FL to the late John and Emma Wertz.

She was a very active member of Madison Campus SDA for over 60 years. In her spare time Dorothy enjoyed gardening and knitting.

Dorothy is survived by her 3 children, Teresa (Eddie) Johnston, Eugene (Melinda) Carris and Brian Carris; grandchildren, Justin Carris, Leslie (Kelley) Frantz, Amber Blakely, Jessica Carris, Aimee (Dustin) Langley, Michael (Wendy) Carris, Madison (Troy) Alexander and Natalie (Chris) Shoulders; 17 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; brother, David (Nancy) Wertz. She was preceded in death by a sister, Inez Trombore.

Family will receive friends on Saturday (11/17) from 2:30pm-3:30pm at Hendersonville Funeral Home (353 E. Main St; Hendersonville, TN 37075) where a celebration of life will follow at 3:30pm.
