Dorothy Jeanne (Caviness) Buckman was born to George and Goldie Caviness on September 16, 1951 in Sanitarium, CA. She went to her rest in Jesus at age 70 in the early morning of September 6, 2022 at her residence, Morning Pointe Assisted Living, Ooltewah TN—with her husband, David Buckman, at her side. She is also survived by 2 daughters Jeanne Marie Jones (Jeff) and Ladele Maye Shaw (Raymond), 3 Granddaughters, Brianna Shaw Grandberry (Darius), Anita Shaw, Sylvia Shaw, 1 grandson Marcus Banks, 1 great grandson Darian Grandberry. and 1 great granddaughter Genice Grandberry. Her passion for nurturing and teaching “kids” of all ages and intuitively sensing and fulfilling their needs was a unique and endearing gift, true to the meaning of her name “gift of God.” Services are as follows: Visitation Friday evening, October 21 from 5p-7p at Hendersonville Funeral Home and Memory Gardens, 353 E. Main St., Hendersonville, TN 37075. Her memorial service will be on Saturday, October 22, at the Hendersonville Seventh-day Adventist Church 118 Anderson Lane, Hendersonville, TN 37075. Visitation will be from 1-2pm with the memorial service starting at 2pm. This will be followed immediately by inurnment at Hendersonville Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens at the above address. Gifts in her memory may be sent to Adventist Community Services, 403 Gallatin Pike S, Madison, TN 37115 or the Hendersonville Samaritan Association, 116 Dunn St., Hendersonville, TN 37075.
