Mrs. Doris E. Summitt age 85 of Hendersonville, TN. passed away on Monday January 13th 2020. A graveside service for Doris will be held on Friday January 17th at 11:00AM at Garfield Cemetery in Garfield Ky. The family will receive visitors at Hendersonville Funeral Home on Thursday January 16th from 5:00PM - 8:00PM.

Doris leaves behind a loving legacy. She was born in Garfield Kentucky on a small farm. In life she was known by many as Dottie, she never met a stranger. She loved flowers and gardening and watching birds. She married Donald J. Summitt in September of 1954. They would go on to spend the next 65 years together.

Doris is preceded in death by her father Enos Bruner, mother Mary Haynes, brother William E. Bruner, brother Tom Bruner and sister Jean Bruner Davis.

She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years Donald J. Summit. Her son Steve & (Diane) Summitt. Brother Robert E. Bruner as well as numerous nieces & nephews.

Doris was a loving wife, mother, sister and friend to all. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
