Donald Gross

Donald Norman Gross, age 87, passed away at home on Thursday, January 5, 2023.  Donald was born on November 25, 1935 in White Plains, New York to the late Martin and Mary Gross.  He is also preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn Gross; brothers, Buddy Matthews, Bill Matthews, and Fred Gross; and sisters, Doris Maier and Margie Moore.

Donald is survived by daughter, Cheryl Niedermaier (Randy); son, Greg J. Gross (Debbie); grandchildren, Amy Niedermaier (Miranda), Erin Niedermaier, Kaley Newton, and Lucas Gross; great-grandchild, Houston Newton; and sisters, Helen Forrester, Betty Gross, Ruth Baker, and Pat Fitzgerald; and many nieces and nephews.

Donald served his country in the United States Air Force.  He retired with the Yonkers Police Department in Yonkers, New York.  Donald was an avid football fan and woodworker.  He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading, and playing poker and chess.  Donald was truly a jack of all trades.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 9, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Hendersonville Funeral Home.  Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation held one hour prior to service at Hendersonville Funeral Home.  Entombment will take place at Hendersonville Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Tunnel to Towers Foundation or a local hospice agency of your choice.
