Donald E. Faulkner, age 82 of Hendersonville, TN, passed on to his heavenly reward on the evening of August 24, 2016.

Born on October 26, 1933 in Knoxville, TN to the late Charles and Nellie Faulkner, Donald spent nearly half of his years in East Tennessee before relocating to Middle Tennessee in the early 70s. After marrying his wife Doris, the two went on to build their family of six children, three boys and three girls. Family was always a top priority for Donald, and taking the opportunity to be with them for Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner was an annual tradition. Though family was a priority for him, his relationship with the Lord came first.

He was a long-time member of Trinity Baptist Church of Hendersonville, where he played a very active role and lived out his faith as a Deacon in the congregation. When recalling his memory it could easily be said that "he was a great witness everywhere he went." His dedication to his ministry at the church was evident until two weeks ago when his health prevented him from keeping to his usual schedule. Those placed into his path by God who were most influential in making him the man he was include; Rev. John Chance, Rev. W. W. Harrison, Grandmother Georgia Lee, Grandfather William R. Lee, and of course, his wife and children. Another expression of his great faith, Donald enjoyed gospel music; especially, singing it himself.

In particular, Donald enjoyed listening to the Gaither Vocal Band, but he also liked listening to the sounds of The Tennesseans Quartet of which he was the bass singer. His love of singing also manifested itself at family gatherings, where he would try his best to get everyone else to join in.

Donald will live on forever in our memories as a jovial, hard-working, dedicated, and loving husband and father. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of forty-nine years, Doris A. Faulkner. Donald is survived by his daughters, Susan G. (Lawton) DeRossett, Debra A. (Pat) Shoulders, Doris A. (Bob) Lollar; sons, Michael E. Faulkner, Donald G. (Beverly) Faulkner, Gary S. (Ruth) Faulkner; seventeen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; sister, Almeda (Gary) Hardwick; and many treasured friends.
