Donald "Don" W. Clinard

Donald W. “Don” Clinard, passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2023.  Don was born on April 27, 1938, in Milldale, Tennessee to Albert N. and Lucille (Brady) Clinard.

Don loved gardening, both flowers and vegetables.  He had a true “green thumb”.  He also enjoyed wood-working making bird houses and walking canes.  Don never met a stranger and could be found riding on his golf cart throughout the neighborhood visiting with the neighbors.  He was known as the unofficial mayor of the neighborhood.  Don began his career with Malone & Hyde Distribution and then joined Auto Zone as a product manager working on opening new stores throughout the United States and Mexico.  After retiring, Don continued to work for Auto Zone as a delivery driver.  Don was a long- time active member of Hendersonville First Baptist Church.  Don loved his family along with his church family. His humor, kindness, and love will be missed by everyone.

Don is preceded in death by his parents Albert and Lucille; son-in-law Walter Trent; brothers Sanford Clinard, James Clinard, Billy Clinard, and Guy Merle Clinard as well as his loving companion Lexie.  He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years Anne; daughter Rene (Morris) Crowder; granddaughter Morgan (Lance) Wiles; great-grandson Walter Wiles; sisters Eloise Phillips, Patsy Brake, Margie (Ken) Dillon, and Janice (Robert) Wolfe; brothers Paul (Phyllis) Clinard and Gerald Clinard.  In addition, he is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, from 12pm-2pm at Hendersonville Funeral Home.  A funeral service will begin at 2pm in the Chapel at the funeral home with burial to follow at Hendersonville Memory Gardens.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Hendersonville First Baptist Church Back Pack Ministry.
