Mr. Donald Bruce Brayton, 79, of Hendersonville, TN passed away at home the evening of Sunday, January 29, 2017. He was born in Michigan to the late L. Fredrick and Flora Brayton. Donald was a graduate of the University of Michigan. Mr. Brayton received a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Tennessee Space Institute in Tullahoma. He retired from Arnold Engineering Development Center after over 30 years. He was active in Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, a member of the Knights of Columbus, and a child's reading tutor. He loved playing cards, square dancing, spending time with his grandchildren and anything to do with sports. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Hnott Brayton; brothers, Tom and Bob Brayton; children, Jennifer (Josh) Baker, Bruce (Pam) Brayton; stepchildren, Linda (Riyad) Alkasem, Deborah Wall; grandchildren, Meghan Brayton, Avery Baker, Anna Arnold, Casey Lamarr, Jack Wall, Jorel Katcher, Kasem Alkasem and Sam Alkasem ; great-granchildren, Cade, Eleanor Grace and Margaret Quinn Lamarr and Kalel and River Katcher.
A Life Celebration service will be held at Our Lady of The Lake Catholic Church, 1729 Stop 30 Rd. Hendersonville, TN at 1 pm on Thursday, February 2, 2017. Visitation will be held on the day of the service from 11 am until the hour of service. Father Eric Fowlkes, celebrant.
