Donald Lee Bloomquist, On 7/21/15 Don Bloomquist passed away quietly at the age of 84. He leaves behind four children, Doug (Lynn), Darlene Bloomquist (Brian Leary), DeAnn (Mike) Pennoni, Don Jr. (Jennifer), and three grandchildren, Garrett, Rachel, and Riley. He was preceded in death by his mother, Goldie Bloomquist (Alderman), father, Vernon Edward Bloomquist, and wife, Casilda (Peggy) Bloomquist. Don's entire life was centered around music, his accordion, and his faith. In his early 20's he opened the Bloomquist Music Studios in Lansing Michigan and began teaching and recording music professionally. In his late 20's, "Don Lee" became nationally known with the release of his groundbreaking single "Echo, Echo, Echo" and his album "Crazy Rhythm." After a concert tour of the country, he operated the newly renamed "Don Lee Studios," a chain of teaching and recording studios in mid-Michigan. He again toured the country in the mid 60's playing in the Harlem Globetrotters' half-time shows for two seasons. In the late 60's he transitioned into the fledgling computer industry working for IBM and other companies while still performing with his accordion nights and weekends. He moved to Florida and then to Idaho in the late 80's where he lived until moving to Pennington Place Senior Living (Now Brookdale) in Hendersonville, TN in 2011. Because of his musical talent and friendly personality, he became a favorite among the senior residents. He gave weekly concerts and was a finalist in Nashville's senior talent competition, Silver Stars, in 2012. Don will be remembered for bringing music into the lives of thousands of people throughout his career. A memorial service will be held at Hendersonville Funeral Home and Memory Gardens on Monday, July 27, 2015. Visitation will be 12-2pm with the service to follow at 2pm. A burial ceremony will be held at Clover Trinity Lutheran Church in Buhl, Idaho on Monday, August 10, 2015
