Don Mathis of Hendersonville, Tennessee passed away on July 17, 2020 in the comfort of his own home.
Don was born in Old Hickory, Tennessee on October 6, 1936 to Jessie Mathis and Ruth Priest. He married Patsy Carlile on August 12, 1965. Together, they had a beautiful baby girl, Brandy. Don loved his family, his country, and his God. He was a veteran of the United States Army, a member of the American Legion, and of Hendersonville Church of Christ. Don loved restoring cars. He won the SEMA award and the Ford Design award in 2003. He was a millwright for the Ford Glass Plant until he retired in 2001 after 26+ years. Don was also a 32� Shriner.
Don is survived by his wife and he is preceded by his parents and his daughter.
A Gathering of Family & Friends will be held from 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, July 21. A Celebration of Life will begin at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, July 21. Interment in Hendersonville Memory Gardens will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation.
