Mrs. Dean Bright Carney age 86, of Hendersonville, TN, passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2019.

Mrs. Carney was born in Nashville, TN, on January 3, 1933, the daughter of the late Ralph Carter Bright and Flora Pursley Bright. She retired from Pirelli Armstrong Tire Company after many years of service. Mrs. Carney was a member of Hendersonville Church of Christ. She loved being with her family and grandchildren. She was a fantastic cook and an avid gardener, tending to her flowers, tomatoes, and grapevines. Mrs. Carney enjoyed playing Canasta with her friends. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Carney was preceded in death by her husband, John Graham Carney; two sons, Wayne and Steven Huffines; and two sisters, Eleanor Eldridge and Betty Stinson.

Survivors include her three children, Sharon (Brett) Anthony, Russell (Dee Anna) Carney; and Cindy (Bill) Stevens; daughter-in-law, Ronda Huffines; seven grandchildren, Kayla Anthony, Kyle Anthony, Caleb Carney, Addison Carney, Mason Stevens, Tori Button, and Dena Huffines; three great-grandchildren; and a brother, Stanley (Kathy) Bright.

A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, May 7, 2019, at 3:00 P.M., Hendersonville Funeral Home with Keith Parker officiating. Interment will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery.

Gathering of Family & Friends will be held Tuesday from 1:00 P.M. until the funeral hour at Hendersonville Funeral Home.

The following will serve as active pallbearers: son, Russell Carney; sons-in-law, Bill Stevens and Brett Anthony; grandsons, Kyle Anthony, Mason Stevens, and Addison Carney; and nephews, Eric Bright and Jeff Eldridge. The honorary pallbearer will be Tommy Hardison.

Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Always & Forever (American Diabetes Association), National Processing Center, P.O. Box 13067 Alexandria, VA 22312.
