David Clarence Mullins of Gallatin, TN, passed away peacefully at the age of 70 in the early morning of Monday, July 16, 2018.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Rachel and Clarence Mullins and his brother, John Paul Mullins.
David is survived by his wife, Margaret Hooten Mullins; sister, Nancy Mullins Stansberry; sister-in-law, Susan Turner Mullins; daughter, Joann Mullins Scott (Todd) and sons, Dennis Mullins (Betsy) and Chris Mullins (Rachel); and grandchildren, Taylor Mullins Veal (Andrew), Hayden Mullins, Anna Scott, Ethan Scott, Ryan Scott, Travis Mullins, and Burke Mullins. David is also survived by many other dear relatives and friends.
He was born September 9, 1947 in Knoxville, TN. He attended school at the University of Tennessee where he was a dedicated Volunteer fan, brother of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity and met the love of his life, Margaret. David recently retired from Consolidated Pipe and Supply after 45 years of service. In his free time he loved gardening, golfing, traveling the world with family and friends, and supporting and cheering on his grandchildren in all of their activities. David never met a stranger and was known to light up any room with his constant joy and love. He will be remembered for his kind soul, generous spirit, and gentle heart. His absence will be felt by the many lives that he touched in his lifetime.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 19, 2018 from 2pm to 6pm at Hendersonville First United Methodist Church. A memorial service will immediately follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Nashville Rescue Mission or www.projecttransformation.org/donate-now
