David Bish, age 65 of Hendersonville and formally from Olean, New York, passed away on April 2, 2016.
He was born on April 10, 1950 to the late Robert Edward and Bertha Lucille Bish in Olean, New York. He graduated high school in 1968 from Hinsdale Central. When Mr. David proposed to the love of his life, and was married on his birthday in 1971.
Mr. David was described as a caring, loving and generous man. He loved to play practical jokes on anyone he cared for. It was told that he would plan months in advance to leaving; he already had plans for 4 of the 7 people that were to go to Florida with him in October. Mr. David loved Christmas, any holiday and eating grits no matter what time of day or year it was. He would rent the biggest vehicle he could find to make sure everyone would fit as they drove around looking at Christmas lights. He was a Godly man, a member of Nashville's Cowboy Church for the past 25 years; he was an active singing in church and always enjoyed the play " The Living Lords Supper".
His world revolved around his wife and children; where he was hands on with everything they did. It wasn't until his precious grandchildren where born, that a new love formed, he became known as Papa and Paw-paw. If he and Mrs. Sandy weren't in Gatlinburg or Florida you could find him at the ball field watching his grandchildren. Anytime you got in the car with Mr. David you would hear the classics like George Jones and Patsy Cline, he loved listening to 650AM.
Mr. David is a son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend that brought a smile to so many through the years, and will live forever in the memories and laughs he provided.
In addition to his parents, Mr. David is preceded in death by his infant son, Christopher Michael Bish and brother, Stephen Bish.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 44 years, Sandy Bish; son, Tim(Amy) Bish; daughter, Tonya (Brandon) Gibbs; grandchildren, Lucas Bish, Braeden Gibbs, Logan Gibbs, and Lauryn Gibbs; siblings, Robert (Linda) Bish, Jr., Gloria Bish, Connie (Wesley) Knight, and Jeffery (Kathy) Bish; good friends, Barbara Vandergrift, Steve (Aloma) Jones, and Pastor Harry (Joanne) Yates and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
A Life Celebration will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, April 7, 2116 at Nashville's Cowboy Church; 410 New Brick Church Pike, Goodlettsville, TN 37072 with Pastor Harry Yates officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday, from 12:00pm until the time of service at 2:00pm.
