Darlene Collett

Darlene Theresa Grove Collett passed away on May 23, 2019. She was born on January 19, 1936 in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio to the late Theresa B. Grove and LeRoy E. Grove. She is also preceded in death by her husband of 25 years, Mr. Clarence T. Collett.
Darlene was raise in Bloomington-Normal, Illinois. After graduating high school she attended air Line Training School in Omaha, Nebraska and joined Delta AirLines soon after at Midway and O'hare Fields in Chicago.
The family moved to the Nashville, TN area in 1972, where their sons were raised. Darlene retired from CNA Insurance Company after 17 years. She enjoyed volunteer work and volunteered for the Legal Aid Society in Gallatin, TN and 19 years as a volunteer for Hendersonville Medical Center.
Darlene followed in the steps of her father by loving to travel. She enjoyed traveling in the US and loved European destinations. She made many of her trips with her girlfriends from high school.
Darlene was an active member of First United Methodist Church in Hendersonville.
She is survived her two sons, Jeffrey C. Collett and Gregory S. Collett.
A life celebration will be held at 5:30pm on Sunday, May 26, 2019. Family will receive friends from 4pm until the time of the service.
In lieu of flower donations may be made to the Sumner County Humane Society.
